 10. TIN & TINA (Top 10 Best Movies On Netflix)

Top 10 Best Movies On Netflix

Tin & Tina is a Spanish horror of the creepy twin variety. Starring Jaime Lorente (of Money Heist fame) and Milena Smit, this film follows a young newlywed couple who decide to adopt after they learn they’ll never bear children of their own. They come across the aforementioned creepy twins at a convent where they were recently abandoned. But while Lorente’s character sees them as a bit too odd, Smit’s character, Lola, thinks they just need some more TLC.

What ensues is a religious, psychological horror that sometimes feels a bit campy. It turns out the fraternal twins were raised with a strict Catholic education, bringing them to interpret the bible as literally as possible, resulting in some dire consequences.

9.MOTHER DAY (Top 10 Best Movies On Netflix)

Top 10 Best Movies On Netflix

This is the year of the mother. Much like Jennifer Lopez’s recent release, Polish film Mother’s Day follows a military-trained operative who fights to rescue the child she was previously forced to give up due to her dangerous life. Jumping between impressive action sequences and shots of Nina’s somber life without her job and her kid, Mother’s Day tells the painful story of a mother scorned.

Though it might not have had as big of a budget as J. Lo’s take on the story, Mother’s Day almost manages to outsell the Netflix original. P.S. It’s worth noting this is not the same Mother’s Day as the 2016 ensemble comedy starring Kate Hudson and Jennifer Aniston.

8. TED (Top 10 Best Movies On Netflix)

Do you remember Ted? In this relic from the 2010s, Mark Wahlberg plays John Bennett, a man whose childhood wish successfully brought his teddy bear to life. But his close friendship with Ted begins to get in the way of his relationship with Lori, played by Mila Kunis.

Written and directed by Seth MacFarlane, Ted is packed with MacFarlane’s signature humor, balancing between offensive and satirical all throughout. It might not be the comedy event of the decade, but it certainly left its mark.

7. A MAN CALLED OTTO (Top 10 Best Movies On Netflix)

Tom Hanks trades in his charming attitude for a grumpy scowl in A Man Called Otto, the English language remake of A Man Called Ove. Hanks stars as a recently widowed and depressed man whose life is changed by the introduction of his cheery neighbors. The film also stars Truman Hanks, Mariana Trevino and Rachel Keller.

A Man Called Otto is mechanically engineered for maximum lachrymosal extraction. The grouch meets the pollyanna, and something has to give, and this is the type of movie that you know which way it’s going to swing, probably even before you watch it,” Decider’s John Serba writes.

6. BLOOD & GOLD (Top 10 Best Movies On Netflix)

Dubbed by Decider’s John Serba as a “Tarantino-esque genre exercise,” Blood & Gold tells the story of a German soldier searching for his daughter at the end of World War II. But when he’s faced with a troupe of plundering Nazis, Heinrich teams up with a local farmer’s daughter who is trying to protect her village.

If you’re looking for something similar to Inglorious Basterds, look no further. Blood & Glory lives up to its pulpy name – and offers up some flashy action that will leave quite an impression.

5. THE MOTHER (Top 10 Best Movies On Netflix)

Top 10 Best Movies On Netflix

Jennifer Lopez is back, baby. In The Mother, the triple threat stars as a military-trained assassin who comes out of hiding to protect her daughter after she gets kidnapped. Lopez’s character, who is just named The Mother, gave up custody of her daughter when she was first born in order to protect her, but, twelve years later, she’ll stop at nothing to get her back.

This action-packed thriller broke records when it premiered on May 12, scoring the biggest opening for a film on Netflix so far this year. The Mother is a chance to see Lopez as an action-adventure star, even if the stunts can get a bit ridiculous sometimes.
